Frequently Asked Questions
"You did an amazing job on all the girls and we loved having you around. The night was amazing...it took me awhile to come off such a high! I will send you photos as soon as I receive them. Expect your phone to ring... I will be giving your number out and I will continue to book you for big events." -Alison
"As a wedding planner, I had many vendors to choose from, but Amy is by far the best and only choice." -Jaime
How long can I expect my makeup to last?
Lipstick will need the most touching up and you should consider buying this in advance. After your trial we will decide which tone works best with your look and you can shop for the one that feels comfortable and stays on you the best. The department stores will let you try on many formulas until you find a perfect fit. You may also have to control shine, depending on how much you are outside, and should carry blot papers and a pressed powder. Eye makeup is all water resistant and typically needs very little maintenance.
What types of products do you use, and what if my skin is sensitive?
We use only high end cosmetic lines such as Bobbi Brown, MAC, Lancome and Trish Mcevoy. Most products are hypo-allergenic and fragrance free, but be sure to tell your artist if you have experienced any specific sensitivities. All brushes are thoroughly washed between jobs and disinfected between clients. Amy upholds the highest standards of cleanliness at all times.
How should I care for my skin the days before an event?
See a dermatoligist if you have any major breakout, they may have time to help. If you have a blemish the day of the event, freeze some visine and apply it to get the red out. Never wax days before the event, it's too damaging and makes it difficult for makeup to adhere. And stay out of the sun (and tanning beds), which is also drying and damaging to the skin. If you would like to try self tanners, do a trial in advance of your event, to make sure you like it and you don't have a reaction.
